Passing God's Tests
James 1:2-3 "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance."
No matter what your level of education, graduation did not exempt you from taking tests. God gives them on a daily basis, and all of His tests are so that our faith can be tested and we can have the opportunity for Him to build character and to mature us. I've learned that problems are not an elective in life. Problems are the required course. If you are going through any trials, temptations, tribulations, testis, or struggles, then James says to count it all joy. Problems are going to come. We're in an economic downturn. Friends that support you today will let you down tomorrow. And, there's always a nighttime experience before joy can come in the morning. God chooses what we go through; we choose how we go through it. When we are put in the middle of a trial, how we respond makes all the difference. We can get angry, sink into depression, pretend nothing is wrong, throw in the towel, or curse and scream. Or, we can respond with joy. This is joy that the world didn't give and the world can't take away. This is the joy of the Lord that makes us strong, and we can do anything through Christ who gives us strength. Don't become bitter. Allow God to make you better. Don't miss the opportunity to be stretched and to go further in your faith walk. You can pass the test if you follow instructions & put scripture into practice. The way God grows us is to teach us through His Word and then test us with a trial so that we can apply what we were taught. Your passing grade will be a testimony to everyone else who is taking God's tests.
Prayer: Father God thank you for maturing us to pass your tests. We count it all joy. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
