He's Got Your Back Psalm 139:1 - "O LORD, you have examined my heart and know everything about me." (NLT) Whenever you go to the doctor for a physical examination, they normally ask you to get undressed and to put on one of those garments that normally have the back out. If you're like me, you do everything you can to keep those strings tied and the necessary parts covered up. The examination may be brief, but a complete physical examination involves evaluating everything from your appearance to your specific organs. They also ask for your medical history and ask several questions that are pertinent to the results they may be seeking. As I read today's scripture I began to think about how comforting it is to know that we don't have to be self conscious about exposing ourselves to God. He already knows everything about us. He knows the hairs on our head, our past, and our future. He knows our flaws, our imperfections, and our issues. He knows that there will be days that we forsake him and try to cover up our sins. He knows our hurt, our pain, our hopes, and our desires. And what I love about God is that He comforts, he protects, he provides, and he listens. He's a father who knows best, and He's got our back. We can rest easy in the fact that God knows us this well and still loves us. If you continue reading this entire psalm, you will discover that you are meant to be here, you are not a mistake, and you are fearfully and wonderfully made in God's image. I challenge you today to make an appointment with the Great Physician, God, and ask him to search your innermost parts so that you will be transformed from the inside-out. Don't be afraid if He sees your back, because He's got your back. He will do a thorough examination, and if further tests are needed, he will follow up with you on any lifestyle changes that may be needed. Prayer: Father God, thank you for examining us from the inside-out. Give us the courage to expose ourselves to you so that we will be healed and made whole. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
